Nelanda Brönn

Speech-, Language- and Hearing Therapist


Nelanda Brönn studied at the University of Stellenbosch and graduated with a B in Speech-, Language- and Hearing Therapy in 2011.  She served her community service year at Uitenhage Provincial Hospital in Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape.  After completing her community service year, she moved to Somerset East, where she started the speech therapy department at Andries Vosloo Hospital.  She acted as the Head of the Speech Therapy Department and completed 4 years of service at the hospital.  She gained some valuable experience in treating in-patients in hospital and worked closely with acute patients as well as patients in the rehabilitation phase.  She had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of diagnosis, ages and populations within a multi-disciplinary team.

After 4 years of residing in the little town of Somerset East, Nelanda decided to follow her passion of working more closely with paediatrics.  She started working in Port Elizabeth at the practice of Jana Heath Speech Therapy and Audiology in 2017.

Nelanda has substantial experience in the following fields:

  • Articulation and phonology disorders

  • Early Childhood intervention
  • Language developmental delays
  • Neonatal, Paediatric and Adult Dysphagia (swallowing and/or feeding disorders)
  • Neuro-developmental disorders (Cerebral Palsy, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), intellectual developmental disorder, motor disorders, and specific learning disorders)
  • Rehabilitation after cerebrovascular accident (Stroke) or Traumatic Brain injuries
  • Stuttering
